Food is my passion, and blogging about it is my way of combining my professional background as a public relations professional with something I dearly love. I grew up in small Southern towns in Georgia. A self-described food enthusiast (not to be confused with a food critic), I come from a long line of great cooks and was destined to fall in love with food, which in my life, has always been a central part of good times.
Some Kinda Good began in 2011 as a fun way to share favorite recipes with family and friends. Today, the blog has morphed into a Southern, coastal food blog highlighting locally owned restaurants and down home recipes, oftentimes with a Lowcountry twist. I often share stories too, about my journey through culinary school. As the tagline indicates, “Good food and good company, that’s what it’s all about!” My blog offers readers an entertaining look at my cooking adventures as I share family traditions, stories about going after my culinary dreams, irresistible, sentimental recipes and a diverse variety of restaurant reviews.
To get the most satisfaction out of eating and cooking, I believe in sourcing ingredients locally and eating what’s in season as much as possible. Sitting down to a home cooked meal with family and friends and sharing good food together is one of the things that has shaped me possibly more than any other experience of my upbringing. At the very heart of Some Kinda Good, you’ll find those traditional, country values paired with all the rich flavors of hearty Wild Georgia Shrimp & Grits, farm-to-table fried green tomatoes and the good ol’ comfort that only comes in a cold glass of sweet iced tea.
